Kuza Refugee Business Platform (REBU) is a social enterprise dedicated to uplifting refugee women entrepreneurs and refugee-led companies. REBU provides financial services and business financial literacy to refugee businesses. This is achieved through mobilizing resources to support businesses built by refugees for refugees. Our mission is to create an environment where access to finance and business financial literacy enables refugee women and entrepreneurs to drive sustainable change within their communities.
Role Overview:
REBU is hiring an Executive Assistant will play a critical role in supporting REBU’s mission by providing high-level executive support, conducting research to inform strategic decision-making, managing external communications, and overseeing administrative functions. The role combines elements of executive support, communications, and organizational management, contributing to REBU’s business growth and social impact.
General Objective of the Role:
The Executive Assistant will be responsible for:
- Coordinating day-to-day operations to enhance the REBU’s effectiveness.
- Conducting in-depth research to guide REBU’s strategic initiatives and decision-making.
- Managing internal and external communications to promote REBU’s mission and services.
- Overseeing administrative functions to ensure the smooth running of REBU’s activities.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Executive Support:
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the CEO, including calendar management, meeting preparation, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate and document key meetings, ensuring action points are tracked and executed.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams, ensuring effective communication and task delegation.
- Research:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities within the refugee business environment.
- Develop insights to inform REBU’s strategic direction and service offerings for refugee entrepreneurs.
- Maintain a database of key stakeholders, NGOs, financial institutions, and donors to support resource mobilization efforts.
- Communications:
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies to increase awareness of REBU’s services and social impact.
- Draft and oversee external communications, including press releases, website content, and social media updates.
- Support the creation of marketing campaigns targeting refugee women entrepreneurs to promote REBU’s financial literacy programs and services.
- Administrative Management:
- Oversee administrative tasks such as record-keeping, filing, and correspondence to ensure efficient operations.
- Coordinate team schedules, facilitate internal communications, and manage resource allocation.
- Assist in the onboarding of new team members and support HR-related activities.
Example Tasks:
- Conduct research on market trends to identify new opportunities that align with the needs of refugee entrepreneurs.
- Manage REBU’s communication channels (social media, website, newsletters) to engage stakeholders and attract new customers.
- Organize and document team workshops and training programs to enhance internal capabilities.
- Develop streamlined administrative processes to improve operational efficiency.
Measurable Outputs/Deliverables:
- Produce quarterly research reports that provide actionable insights for REBU’s strategic initiatives.
- Implement communication strategies that result in measurable growth in engagement across all platforms.
- Establish and maintain clear administrative processes, improving operational efficiency.
- Strengthen REBU’s brand presence, leading to increased stakeholder engagement and customer acquisition.
Performance Indicators:
- Research outcomes leading to the development of at least two new services or improvements annually based on identified market opportunities.
- Increase in customer engagement and acquisition of refugee entrepreneurs utilizing REBU services.
- Effective administrative management resulting in streamlined operations and positive team feedback.
- Consistent external communication leading to higher brand recognition and new partnership opportunities for REBU.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, Social Work and Social Administration, Community Development, Business Administration, Human Rights, and Social Sciences.
Reporting Structure:
The Executive Assistant reports directly to the CEO.
Duration of Contract:
April 2025 to December 2025.
